Celebrating the launch of Portland's CPS cohort!

Along the bank of the beautiful Columbia River, 25 individuals came together during the first week of August to learn the Prevention Core Competencies. Our very own Debby Jones and Cyndy Hiller led the group throughout the week in rich discussions around how public health, behavioral health and prevention intersect. The goal of this training is to introduce prevention professionals to the core elements of the Prevention Performance domains: Planning and Evaluation, Prevention Education and Service Delivery, Communication, Community Organization, Public Policy and Environmental Change, and Professional Growth and Responsibility. This training was the unofficial kick off of our Portland Certified Prevention Specialist Cohort training series. We are so grateful for our first round of participants, and look forward to sharing more and growing together, as a field.
